Armadillidium gestroi are large, bold isopods with a glossy charcoal-black body and bright yellow spotting. Their chunky build and high-contrast markings make them easy to spot cruising through leaf litter, especially once a colony gets established.

Gestroi are relatively slow-growing and slower to reproduce than many common isopods, making them a good choice for keepers who want a distinctive display colony without explosive population growth.
